Where did you grow up and what was your childhood like? Did you have any particular experiences/stories that shaped your adult life?

I grew up in a small town in Texas called Midlothian. My childhood was not a fairytale kind of growing up. A lot of problems with a stepdad and I just did fit in.

What is something you wish you would’ve realized earlier in your life?

Relax, everything will work out as it should!

What are bad recommendations you hear in your profession or area of expertise?

Well, that everyone is a great coach – that is just not true.

Tell me about one of the darker periods you’ve experienced in life. How you came out of it and what you learned from it?

I was on drugs in my twenties and tried to commit suicide more than once.

What is one thing that you do that you feel has been the biggest contributor to your success so far?

My mother taught me to love no matter what and never give up.

What is your morning routine?

I wake up around 5:15 am when I hear the birds singing outside. I go downstairs and make myself some coffee and then feed the animals. I then come to my desk and meditate a bit and then begin my daily routine of answering emails and writing. I am usually done by 12 noon, where I go play in the Andes of Peru!

What habit or behavior that you have pursued for a few years has most improved your life?

Staying radically mindful!

What are your strategies for being productive and using your time most efficiently?

Stay present.
Don’t try to control things that you cannot control.
This do shall pass and everything works out.

What book(s) have influenced your life the most? Why?

The book that influenced me the most was Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. It was so different than the way I thought that I gave it a try and it changed my life!
