Where did you grow up and what was your childhood like? Did you have any particular experiences/stories that shaped your adult life?
Connecticut- very middle-class family, I was always interested in leadership and business
What is something you wish you would’ve realized earlier in your life?
My father losing his job and then going to work as a teacher for 1/3 pay. He told me I should work at something I enjoyed!
What are bad recommendations you hear in your profession or area of expertise?
The only thing it takes to be successful is passion- it takes experience, skill, and resiliency
Tell me about one of the darker periods you’ve experienced in life. How you came out of it and what you learned from it?
In 1995, I suffered from depression and anxiety. I came out of it through drugs and therapy. It taught me we all have problems to deal with and no one is immune
What is one thing that you do that you feel has been the biggest contributor to your success so far?
All the generous people that have been willing to help me along the way
What is your morning routine? Please include the time you wake up.
If I am not traveling, I wake at 8 PM. I always do the two critical things first in the day.
What habit or behavior that you have pursued for a few years has most improved your life?
Letting go of the bad times and giving myself a chance to succeed again.
What are your strategies for being productive and using your time most efficiently?
Learning to focus and not using time as an excuse
